Brisbane to send large contingent to global warming rally
Brisbane residents have been busy painting banners and letterboxing neighbours to make sure Brisbane is well represented at this year’s biggest grassroots climate change event, the Walk Against Warming.
“If we don’t do something to stop global warming now, it will be too late for our kids,” Climate Action Brisbane spokesperson, Emma Brindal said today.
“Climate Action Brisbane formed because we knew it was up to us to take action on climate change. The only way politicians will address this issue is if we force them to.”
“At the moment the main focus of our group is to make sure Brisbane stands up and is counted in this year’s Walk Against Warming. We are expecting thousands of people to turn out,” Ms Brindal said.
“Already, many people across Australia have made changes like reducing their energy use in their homes. Now the Government needs to match our commitment and make sure Australia starts to act responsibly and take action on climate change,” said Ms Brindal
