Second fire at Narangba highlights lack of improvement in emergency processes

Mr BEATTIE YOU’LL FIX IT…… But when Mr Beattie?

The chemical fire at Magnesium Street Narangba Industrial Noxious Offensive Hazardous Estate is now the second in 16 months.

Again another tin shed storing Pesticides and Herbicides. Another shed without a manifest at the entrance, another chemical fire extinguished with water because there was no foam, another chemical fire where emergency services arrive without appropriate equipment and breathing apparatus, another environmental disaster when EPA / CSC come in to close the gate six hours after the horse has bolted. Another hazardous situation where you expect/ order emergency services personnel to go where you would not go yourself.

The Community now expects more sanitised reports again telling them that there was no risk to their lives and that can expect to live to long and healthy old age. Unfortunately for you Mr Beattie, again the Community were “Johnny on the spot” and will now write their own reports and tell the truth.

Why is this so Mr Beattie?....Because you fixed it didn’t you? That is two strikes on the batter Mr Beattie, will strike three see an instant death rather than the slow insidious deaths caused by the Binary Fire. But that’s right Mr Beattie it’s not your life you’re playing Russian Roulette with, it’s ours!!!!!
