The impacts on the earth's weather go far beyond temperature increases. With conservative projections now suggesting that the earth's temperature will rise between 2 and 6 degrees by the end of the century it is important to consider the additional impacts of climate change.
As a result of climate change, we in Australian are likely to see:
-
significantly reduced rainfall in the southern and eastern areas of the continent
-
more frequent and more severe cyclones and hurricanes in the north of Australia
-
more heatwaves
-
less predictable rainfall patterns across the world
-
floods and droughts, including in areas not usually affected
-
unseasonal weather.
