What We Do
FoEB campaigns on environmental issues with an emphasis on social justice. We see all environmental problems as both starting and ending in human interaction, and thus eminently solveable. We focus on grass-roots organising because it is in the community where real change is possible. [read more about FoEB policies]
Climate Justice
FoE believes that the core value behind climate change is one of justice for those affected by it. Those most affected by our profligate use of fossil fuels are those who use the least themselves and are least able to cope.
Australia has a responsibility to see justice done for those people: to mitgate, to help affected nations adapt and to accept climate refugees.
Anti-Nuclear
Nuclear issues are once again hot topics. FoEB believe that the nuclear cycle from uranium to power to weapons can never be sustainable.
We work to see the end of the industry in all it's guises, but with a specific focus on uranium mining, war 'games' that bring nukes to our shores, and food irradiation.
